Boris Johnson will go on holiday from Wednesday with just a few weeks left in Downing Street.

The happy population prime minister is enjoying a summer break before being replaced at number 10 by Rishi Sunak or Liz Truss in September.

Mr. Johnson will be on furlough until the end of the week - but will still be in charge of leading the country, his official spokesperson said.

Details of where he is spending his summer vacation are kept secret for security reasons.

He was forced to cut short his holiday in Scotland in April 2020 after the location was leaked to the media.

Asked who would be in charge during Mr Johnson's absence, the Prime Minister's official spokesman replied: 'That will be the standard model.

"The Prime Minister will be updated as needed...the Deputy Prime Minister [Dominic Raab] and, as always with a Cabinet government, other Ministers will be on hand to support as necessary."

The spokesperson declined to say if it will be a family getaway with his wife Carrie and their grandchildren Wilf and Romy.
