The UK and EU have agreed a new Brexit deal to resolve issues with the Northern Ireland Protocol. “An agreement has been reached. The deal is done," a senior government source said.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Windsor early for "final talks" with Rishi Sunak as the couple prepared to sign a new post-Brexit deal for Northern Ireland.

The landmark deal is expected to be officially announced by Mr Sunak and Ms Von der Leyen at a a joint press conference in Windsor later this afternoon.

Arriving at Earlier in London, Ms von der Leyen said she was looking forward "to turning a page and opening a new chapter with our partner and friend".
