BTS Sets Date For Busan Concert In Support Of World Expo Bid Soompi

Korean pop icons BTS have confirmed that they will perform a free concert in Busan to support the candidacy of the city to host the 2030 World Expo.

The "Yet To Come" concert will be held at 6 p.m. on October 15 at the special Busan Ilgwang in Gijang- gun. The date is also one day after the end of the Busan International Film Festival.

Organizer Big Hit Music said the in-person concert is expected to draw 100,000 people. An in-person live broadcast LIVE PLAY will welcome around 10,000 people at the outdoor parking lot of the Busan International Port Passenger Terminal. The concert will also be streamed live on Weverse, Zepeto and Naver Now.

Although the concert is free, reservations will be required.

The concert kicks off BTS' activities as exhibition ambassadors Universal 2030 in Busan, Korea. At the ambassador appointment ceremony last month, BTS said, "We will make extra efforts not only to support the bid, but also to promote the beautiful nature and culture of the Republic of Korea to the world."

BTS management at Hybe Corp, previously said that the group will hold other activities to attract members of the Bureau International des Expositions, which organizes the international competition to organize the Expo. The group will personally present the proposed site for BIE fact-finding missions, serve as ambassadors during South Korea's presentation session, be present on election day to support the candidacy, provide photos and videos for the city's digital campaigns and will distribute promotional videos through social media channels.
