There is nothing stopping Donald Trump from running for president in 2024.

To have the best chance of winning, he will likely need to be endorsed as a Republican Party candidate rather than running as an independent.

With former Vice President Mike Pence, former (and losing weight) US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis all reportedly considering putting their names in the hat, there is no would have no guarantee that he would receive party support.

Trump has been impeached twice - the first time in history that this has happened to a US president - during his single term in office.
