Almost two years later and a huge electoral defeat later, Donald Trump is still giving his supporters hope that he could bid back for the White House.

The 45th President of the United States was comfortably defeated by incumbent Democratic Party Chairman Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

Then there was the storming of Capital Hill by Trump supporters on January 6, 2021, who had been inflamed by his calling the election result "a big lie."

But that hasn't stopped the real estate mogul from hinting that he may run again in the 2024 contest in a belated bid for a second term.

A BB2 documentary, Trump: The Comeback - which airs at 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11 - will use the run-up to November's midterm elections to see if the billionaire could try again.

There is nothing stopping Donald Trump from running for president in 2024.

To have the best chance of winning, he will likely need to be endorsed as a Republican Party candidate rather than running as an independent.

With former Vice President Mike Pence, former (and losing weight) US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis all reportedly considering putting their names in the hat, there is no would have no guarantee that he would receive party support.

Trump has been impeached twice - the first time in history that this has happened to a US president - during his single term in office.
