Chelsea go after Fernandez

According to a recent report from Evening Standard, Chelsea have let it be known that they are willing to pay big bucks for Enzo Fernandez.

During the World Cup, Fernandez played a key role in bringing Argentina to the final, where they eventually became the new world champion.

The 21-year-old is believed to have a contract with Benfica until 2027, however, he has a release clause attached which is worth around £105million. Now, after the World Cup, the Blues are more than willing to pay such a sum - as is usually the case with successful players at such a global event.

The youngster is one of the most intriguing players in world football and on the other hand, Chelsea are struggling to prove themselves in the Premier League this season.

They need a real injection of life and Enzo could be just what they need.
