Chilli's son Tron Austin supports his mother's relationship with Matthew Lawrence

Matthew Lawrence got the stamp of approval from Chilli's son, Tron Austin. In a recent interview with People, the 'Family Legacy' actor opened up about his mother's new relationship, including how he feels about Lawrence.

"Oh man, I just like seeing her happy, you know?" the 25-year-old shared. "As someone who has now been in my relationship for five years, I love seeing humans connect and witness that authenticity. I feel that from him."

He added that Chilli was protective of his budding romance with Lawrence. "We've only met a few times because they're really building their relationship because she's very careful about that stuff," Austin explained. He added that the TLC singer's willingness to be open about her romance "shows me that she's a very special person in her life."

Chilli and Lawrence made their relationship Instagram official in January, but were first spotted together in Hawaii in August of last year. Since then, they've been open about the fact that they enjoy spending time together. In a March 17 interview with 'Ryan Cameron Uncensored' radio show, the 52-year-old even revealed that she wouldn't rule out starting a family with Lawrence in the future.

"You never know," Chilli said. "I would never say [I'm done]. I have to be married for sure...and I'm not married yet."
