China patrols the waters around Taiwan with its new attack submarines carrying supersonic missiles.

The Type-039C Yuans, which only entered service in July, was deployed in China's East Sea Fleet and is at the forefront of the country's non-nuclear submarines.

This comes as Taiwan accused China of exaggeration and "tricks" on Tuesday after the Chinese military released images of the strategically located Penghu Islands where a major Taiwanese airbase is located.

And China has imposed sanctions on seven Taiwanese officials and lawmakers whom it accuses of being "independence diehards".

China, which claims Taiwan as its territory, conducted military exercises around the island this month after a visit by US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, which was attended by five US lawmakers Sunday and Monday.

The Chinese military unit responsible for the area adjacent to Taiwan, the People's Liberation Army Eastern Theater Command, released a video of the Penghu Islands on Monday, apparently taken by an IDF plane. Chinese air nearby.

Taiwan air force vice chief of operations staff Tung Pei-lun told reporters in Taipei it was an information war Chinese, although he said he had no comment on who took the video.

"China used exaggerated cognitive warfare tricks to show how close it was to Penghu - which is not true," Tung said.

Taiwan's Ministry of Defense on Monday, in an update on Chinese Air Force activity near Taiwan, showed on a map that the closest Chinese aircraft to Penghu this that day was four J-16 fighters.
