Competiting for the prize is director Gracie Otto's feature debut "Seriously Red" (which screened at SXSW earlier this year) which stars the film's writer Krew Boylan as an impersonator by Dolly Parton. It also stars Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale.

Competition also includes: the world premiere of "Transfusion", the directorial debut of actor Matt Nable ("The Dry", "The Twelve") and features Sam Worthington ("Avatar") in the role of a man trying to connect with his young son after a devastating loss; 'Sweet As', writer-director Jub Clerc's feature debut is set in the Pilbara region of Western Australia; and Macedonian-born, Australian-based writer-director Goran Stolevski's "Of An Age" ("Won't Be Alone").
