"It felt like the whole country was behind us. We're just sad to have let them down. We couldn't quite do it," said Brunt, 37, who retired from Testing in June and has now hinted she may retire from all international cricket.

"I have to get up in two days to play in The Hundred , which is wild. But that's just life, it's just sport.

"I need to think about this, see where I am and what my next goal is."

The White Ferns needed less than 12 overs to reach their target of 111 after England won the draw, but were limited to 110-9 from their 20 overs.
