The Copa do Brasil kicks off with Krona as first sponsor

February 27 - The Copa do Brasil, which kicked off last week, added tube maker Krona as a sponsor on a one-season deal.

The Copa do Brasil is played as a knockout competition with 92 clubs from all regional associations, with 12 clubs entering the competition in the third round. Flamengo are the current champions.

This is the first time that Krona has sponsored the Copa do Brasil and the brand will be present on the pitchside LED panels and in 180 broadcast matches, split between Rede Globo, Sportv, Premiere and Primevideo. Krona will also have brand visibility in all draws, at the player tunnel entrance and on official tournament social media.

Valdicir Kortmann, Krona's Commercial and Marketing VP, said: "Due to its reach and target audience, the Copa do Brasil is a great opportunity for Krona to expand its presence through sports marketing, which has proven to be extremely effective in strengthening the brand… This sponsorship will further strengthen our communication work with customers and end audiences."

The winner of the Copa Do Brasil receives 70 million Real ($13.4 million) and the runner-up 30 million Real ($5.7 million).
