Coronation Street: Rob Burrow hopes MND story will raise awareness

Rugby League legend Rob Burrow said he hopes the story of Coronation Street on the motor neurone disease (MND) is said to help raise awareness of the condition.
The ex-Leeds Rhinos star visited the famous cobblestones to meet the cast at the center of the plot.
Burrow, who was one of the people who inspired the script, has sought to raise awareness of the disease since his diagnosis in 2019 .
He said he hoped showing the effects of MND would make "a big difference".
"I'm blown away by the response I had, but Coronation Street will take awareness to a whole new level," Burrow said. of work and time spent on a patient with this horrible disease, I think it will help bring him home."
MND affects the brain and nerves and causes weakness that gets worse over time.
There is no cure for MND, but there are treatments to help reduce the impact on a person's daily life.
