Patel and Lewis Hill (82) have led Leicestershire to 252-3.

Glamorgan took a 58 first-leg lead as they were eliminated for 465, Chris Cooke last out for 132.< /p>

Their three-plus scoring rate meant the game was running out of time, but Leicestershire were still likely to face an opening onslaught from the seamstresses of Glamorgan and Sol Budinger quickly edged Michael Neser to slip for one.

As Glamorgan tried to shake off the life of the pitch with a short bowling, Patel crushed Timm van der Gugten on the square leg in Milligan Road, while he and Hill survived loud calls to be taken hostage.

But the tension quickly died down as Leicestershire were top with nine wickets still standing at lunch , leaving Glam. ..
