David Beckham snubbed by King Charles as England icon dropped off New Year's Honors list again

David Beckham has once again been left off the New Year's Honors list as his grueling wait to become a knight continues. The former England captain was long optimistic that he would one day receive the nod based on all he has given to football and sport, but just like the years previous ones, the 47-year-old suffered disappointment again.

Beckham received an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honors List in 2003.

Ten years on, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid winger was caught up in the Ingenious tax avoidance scheme before being added to the official list of endorsements in 2021 after his name was cleared by HMRC.

The Inter Miami owner has endured a busy year that has come under heavy criticism from the LGBTQ+ community for his involvement in the Qatar World Cup.

Unfortunately for Beckham, despite clearing his name of any wrongdoing in 2021, he has yet again failed as his wait to become a knight rumbles.

The New Year Honors List includes several notable sportsmen and women who follow amazing personal stories throughout the year.

Key members of the England Lionesses football team have been honored for their 'outstanding performance' at the European Championships this summer.

Captain Leah Williamson is set to receive an OBE for her leadership and performance at the tournament.

Meanwhile, star player Lucy Bronze, gold shoe Beth Mead and England women's international top scorer Ellen White are all set to receive MBEs.

Pat Jennings is also set to receive a CBE for his football and charitable service in Northern Ireland.

Liverpool and Scotland defender Andy Robertson set to receive MBE for his youth work

Meanwhile, former Sky Sports pundit Chris Kamara is also up for an MBE due to his charity work and work against racism.

Beckham has previously said receiving his OBE was one of the best moments of his life.

"The most special moment for me was receiving my OBE," he said. "I took my grandparents with me, who really made me a big royalist and a fan of the royal family, and obviously I had my wife there too.

"To intervene, to obtain my honor, but also Her Majesty, to ask questions, to speak, I was so lucky to have been able to have a few moments like this in my life, to be around Her Majesty.

"Because we can all see with the love that was shown how special she is and how special she was and the legacy she leaves behind."
