Elon Musk's fight with Apple gets tricky as Twitter announces rolling out Blue Verified only to iOS for now

Elon Musk's Twitter is expected to roll out its blue-verified service on schedule, but it will only be available on Apple Inc's iOS AAPL platform at launch.

What happened: The service will launch as an update to the Twitter iOS app on Friday and will need to be approved by the Tim Cook-led company due a standard application review process, Reuters reported, citing The Information's sources.

The Blue service will come to Android phones later.

Twitter did not immediately respond to Benzinga's request for comment.
