England player ratings: Rashford gets 9 as Three Lions knock Wales out of World Cup

England hammered home three second-half goals to beat Wales 3-0 on Tuesday night at the top of Group B and book their place in the knockout stages of the World Cup, where they will face the Senegal in the round of 16. Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden scored within a minute of each other in the second half before Rashford netted a second that gave the Three Lions a one-sided victory in the Battle of Britain. Jordan Pickford - 6

His quietest night of the tournament, spending most of the evening alone as England tried to make every man count.

Kyle Walker - 6

Bristled as usual, he was perhaps a bit too abrasive at times and his pace had little impact in the final third.

John Stones - 7

Another controlled display as part of a back four and he even made the occasional useful contribution from set pieces. I missed a late babysitter.

Harry Maguire - 7

Luke Shaw - 6

Some interesting crosses but generally his set pieces didn't do much damage but he kept Bale quiet while he was on it.

Declan Rice - 7

Completely dominated midfield, turning possession over to give Rashford their first chance. Develop with each game.

Jordan Henderson - 7

Introduced to provide support for Phil Foden. He's not England's most dynamic player, but it's surprising how committed he is.

Jude Bellingham - 7

Some enterprising moments and his energy helped keep England in the limelight. Film of the match to prepare Foden in the first half.

Phil Foden - 7

Seemed to lack conviction in the first half but his run earned him England's instant free kick and he enjoyed the boost his goal gave him.

Harry Kane - 7

Again, his link game was more important than his striking prowess. Having the class to open up space and cross for Foden was perfect.

Marcus Rashford - 9

England's outstanding creative player, always looking for something different, was just too good for Wales.
