First Royal London One-Day International, NorthamptonSouth Africa 218 all out (47.4 overs) Tryon 88; Sciver 4-59, Brunt 3-18 England: 219-5 (32.1 overs): Lamb 102, Sciver 55; De Klerk 2-44England win by five wickets; lead the multi-format series 4-2Scorecard

Lamb, in his third ODI, raised his hundred just 91 balls as England chased 219 with 17.5 overs to spare.

She added 89 for the third wicket with Nat Sciver, who made it 55 from 31 balls.

It was an impressive performance from England throughout, dismissing the Tourists for 218 inside 48 overs before never letting their bowlers pressure during the chase.

South African flyhalf Laura Wolvaardt made 43 before Chloe Tryon netted an entertaining 88 on 73 balls, including three sixes, and looked like she was going to propel her side to a reasonable total.

But his wicket sparked a five-wicket slump for just 13 runs in the space of 16 balls.

Katherine Brunt took 3-18 in her first international appearance of the summer and Sciver won the career best figures of 4- 59.

England lead the multi-format series 4-2 after the single test ended in rain draw.

The second ODI is in Bristol on Friday, from 2:00 p.m. BST.
