'Everyone is ready' - Xavi's team message after Barcelona beat Elche

Barcelona head coach Xavi thinks 'everyone is ready' as he underlined the importance of the team's players after the 3-0 win over Elche 10 at Camp Nou.

Memphis Depay's strike and Robert Lewandowski's brace gave Barca a fifth victory in their first six La Liga games, while adding a fourth consecutive clean sheet in the league.

The three points lifted them top of the table ahead of the Madrid derby on Sunday, and Xavi believes depth in the squad will be key as Barcelona bid for their first La Liga title since the 2018-19 campaign.

"We are a wide team, in which everyone trains well. Everyone is prepared and plugged in when the team needs them, and that is what is important," said Xavi.< /p>

"It's an atypical year with a tight schedule. We're not going to rest for a few weeks, and we need everyone. It's about making a group. It doesn't matter who plays, the team is up to it.

"We're spoiled for choice, many options, and in the end, it's the teams that win the titles, not the starting 11."

Two of Barcelona's best performers against LaLiga's bottom side were youngsters Alejandro Balde and Pedri, and Xavi is full of praise for the teenage pair.

"He [Pedri] is one of the best that's been here. He understands the game, makes the difference with the pass, doesn't lose the ball. We have to take care of him," said Xavi, 42 years old.

"They [Elche] have done a lot of individual marking and Balde can generate superiority inside and out. It's surprising that an 18-year-old boy is playing at this level.

"He is in excellent physical shape and he will give us a lot."
