Exclusive: Tory officials scoff at breaking lockdown rules

The Tories face the threat of a new police investigation into Partygate as never-before-seen footage shows staff drinking, dancing and mocking lockdown laws at the height of Covid.

Explosive video reveals for the first time how officials joked about their Christmas party breaking lockdown rules at the Conservative campaign headquarters in London.

At least 24 revelers were there and, surprisingly, they include two named on former Prime Minister Boris Johnson's controversial resignation honors list.

In the exclusive footage, two dancers even twirl past a sign that reads 'Please keep your distance'.

It will infuriate families who have lost loved ones to Covid and rekindle criticism of Mr Johnson just days after he was criticized for misleading MPs about the No 10 parties.

This kneeling took place on December 14, 2020, as large swathes of the UK were barred from socializing indoors.

A widely seen photo of the bash was part of a Met Police investigation last year. The force only had stills to proceed with and found insufficient evidence of a breach of the law - and no fines were issued.

But the damning video sheds new light on the matter and the Met says it will assess whether it might be material to an investigation.
