Rishi Sunak condemned the “horrific violence” unleashed by Hamas against the Israeli people, insisting that “terrorism will not prevail”.

The Prime Minister praised Britain's "solidarity" with the people of Israel, days after Hamas gunmen crossed the border in surprise land, sea and air attacks.

Mr. Sunak spoke movingly about innocent teenagers being gunned down “in cold blood” at a peace party and the murder of entire families. And he said the “inhumane” attacks “will not last”, pledging his support for Israeli authorities and British citizens caught up in the attacks.

At least 800 people have been killed in Israel, according to local media. was reported – a staggering death toll on a scale the country has not seen in decades – and nearly 500 people were killed in Gaza, and thousands were injured. Palestinian activists say they are holding more than 130 prisoners.
