Cable news and network coverage of the Thursday, January 6 prime-time committee hearing will once again have one notable shortcoming: Fox News.

< p class="css-at9mc1 evys1bk0">Fox will not broadcast the hearing live, instead reserving its highest-rated hours for its usual lineup of Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham. Its sister network, Fox Business, will hold the hearing live beginning at 8 p.m., the company said in a statement.

Fox News viewers, cable the country's most-watched news network, will likely have to wait until midnight for any lengthy discussion of the evening's events. Anchor Shannon Bream will dedicate her nightly show at that time to the subject.

The committee's other prime-time hearing last month also didn't no longer aired live on Fox News. The network also aired its usual prime-time programming. Mr. Carlson explained to his audience, as he has done many times before, that he was not going to let the committee "lie". Mr Hannity called the hearing a 'sham'.

Fox News broadcast the hearings which took place during the day, when millions of viewers fell are watching. But those days were hardly important for the network. It was eclipsed in the ratings by CNN and MSNBC, which rarely happens.
