He has claimed a total of 347 first class dismissals during his career.

The South African spent eight seasons with Gloucestershire before joining Worcestershire and has surpassed the Pears' batting averages in 2022 by finishing fifth in Division Two last season.

He was recently promoted to open batting and thanked the club for their support.

"You want always try to make sure you contribute, and with a contract extension that means you are doing your job and doing your bit for the team,” he said.

"Thank you to everyone at the club for their support and backing when things weren't going well, and it certainly helped me get back to some semblance of fitness."
