Gerard Pique refused to bid farewell to Barcelona after heartbreaking decision by referee following furious rant

"I love Barça. That's why I consider it the right time to go. This is not a goodbye. I was born here, I will die here."

Pique had announced his retirement in a clever video on social media. He told the fans: "Barcelona gave me everything. You culers (Barcelona fans) gave me everything.

"And now that [this] kid's dreams have come true, I want to tell you that I've decided it's time to end this journey.

"I always said that there would be no other team after Barca and it will be like that. I will become a regular fan. I will support the team. I will pass on my love for Barcelona to my children. And you know me - sooner or later I will be back."
