Police responded to the call in Weatherford, Texas at approximately 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and found the 38-year-old father in the home with a bullet wound to his abdomen.

Investigators found that after killing her father, the 12-year-old planned to drive to pick up her friend before fleeing to Georgia together.
While the investigation is ongoing, Parker County Sheriff's investigators have charged minor Lufkin with criminal conspiracy in planning the murder conspiracy.
The Sheriff's Office does not identify juvenile suspects and therefore also does not release the names of adults in order to protect their identity.
Sheriff Authier said the matter is in its early stages and is under active investigation.
“Due to the injuries, the age of the minors and the sensitivity of the case, information released regarding this case will be limited,” Sheriff Authier said.
