Glastonbury 2023: 'Hard times' blamed for rising ticket prices

Emily Eavis , organizer of the Glastonbury Festival, said "incredibly difficult times" are behind a price hike for next year's event. standard tickets, with a £50 deposit.
Tickets last went on sale in 2019 at £265 plus booking fee for what should have been the 2020 festival which was ultimately postponed.
Eavis said they tried "very hard" to cut costs.< /p>
"We are facing huge increases in the costs of running this vast spectacle, while recovering from the huge financial impact of two years without a festival in cause of Covid," she said.
"The £50 deposit on the day tickets go on sale in November will be the same as ever , with the balance not due until April.
" And, as always, thousands of people will have the opportunity to come as volunteers or in the frame of and the crew.
