Stunning New Trailer For Hand-Painted Polish Love Story 'The Peasants'

“Love comes and goes, but the earth remains.” BreakThru Films has unveiled another new trailer for their highly anticipated new project titled The Peasants , Made entirely by hand. film painted by artists from Poland directed by filmmakers DK Welchman & Hugh Welchman. This has already been in the works for years, we already showed a promo trailer in 2020 saying it would be done by 2022, but with the pandemic everything has slowed down. The story of an early 20th century Polish peasant woman who creates havoc by marrying an older wealthy man. Wladyslaw Reymont's epic novel was brought to life using the popular realist and pre-impressionist paintings of the 19th century, with a focus on the Young Poland movement and the works of artists such as Józef Chełmoński, Ferdynand Ruszczyc and Julian Fałat. This is the sequel to their hand-painted film Loving Vincent, about Vincent Van Gogh. Each frame is painted by someone, resulting in thousands of paintings by the end of production. They sell many of the oil paints used to create Loving Vincent on their official website. It looks absolutely stunning and I hope they finish it soon.

Based on the Nobel Prize-winning novel by Wladyslaw Reymont, The Peasants tells the tragic story of a peasant woman named Jagna forced to marry Boryna, a much older and wealthy farmer, despite her love for her son Antek. Over time, Jagna becomes the object of envy and hatred among the villagers and she must fight to preserve her independence. Set in the Polish countryside at the dawn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the dramatic turns of the story are linked to the changing seasons, hard work in the fields and traditional local festivals. Peasants is directed by Polish filmmaker DK Welchman (formerly Dorota Kobiela), director of the films The Flying Machine and Loving Vincent previously, with Hugh Welchman, also from < em>Loving Vincent and a producer on other projects. The screenplay is also by DK Welchman & Hugh Welchman; based on the novel "Chlopi" by Wladyslaw Stanislaw Reymont.
