Dozens of consultations in Whitehall have received no response from the government, with the Tories accused of 'wobbling from crisis to crisis'.

Ministries often launch formal consultations on plans, gathering feedback before responding and, sometimes, revising policies before they reach Parliament.

But Labor Party research found that 25 of them had not received a response from ministers, including two from seven years ago.

Fifteen launched in this Parliament are still awaiting answers, raising fears about the future of the plans as the warring Tories prepare to install another new Prime Minister - the fourth in just over six years.
