'Groom ripper' arrested after dismembering bride-to-be

A man described as a 'bride ripper' dismembered his future wife and kept her heart in his freezer, police say.

Bestselling lawyer Petr Begun, 37, strangled Olha Davydenko, 39, then apparently cut up his corpse.

The suspected butcher, a former murder investigator, has been arrested in Ukraine.

"The groom's ripper tore out the heart, kidneys and female sexual organs of his beloved" which he kept in his home, according to reports citing regional police chief Andrei Nebytov.

Begun had been on a wedding reality show called Blind Wedding and a "motivational coach".

He posed as a potential husband for the 2019 episode, but his alleged victim was a woman he met earlier this year.

For several days, he dumped his other remains in landfills, sometimes carrying "suspicious packages" on his bicycle.

The victim's pelvis and part of his spine were found in a suitcase thrown into a pond while his severed hands and feet were discovered in another abandoned bag.

She was first recognized by her clothes, then identified by her fingerprints, he said.

The alleged wartime murder was “a terrible story of mortal love, cynicism and a desperate attempt to hide the traces of crime in the Kyiv region,” according to the report.
