Was Erling Haaland 'worked out'? And are Arsenal just Man City's B team?

We've got plenty on the morals of the World Cup but first, have Arsenal, Manchester City and Erling Haaland been uncovered?

Haaland can be stopped With the Erlander's recent dry spell in front of goal, isn't that because team coaches have now had time to study him in real Premier League games and make adjustments accordingly. The centre-backs have now seen that little burst of late speed in the box, how he spins etc., and are preparing for it. One block here, one diversion there, and suddenly you're the hole in the donut. Don't worry, though, he's still going to outperform every other player who has ever been or will grace the EPL (two seasons only). Only high-level defenses can stop it, and we haven't seen many of those so far. Mark Trotsky, Woodstock, NY, USA @prayforme

(This 'dry spell' seems to consist of the game against Liverpool and 45 minutes against Borussia Dortmund. Good luck - Ed)

If not Manchester United, then ArsenalAll those Arsenal haters… What am I like?

I'm a United fan, and I'm absolutely delighted to see Arsenal challenge and succeed. Since Wenger joined Wenger, they have always aspired to play entertaining football without being the team that spends more than everyone else (yes…unlike my team). What's not to love?

Yes, they discovered an extra bite (arteta histrionics, circled ref, etc.) but damn, it's necessary to win these days.

I'm also delighted to see a club sticking with their manager long enough to see rewards coming.

I can tell you that I would definitely rather see Arsenal win the title than City. Without the Gunners, it would be inevitable for them to win another title. Nishul Saperia (The process is working. Hope ETH can do theirs a little faster!)

Arsenal are Man City's B TeamRG "I know Man City fans reading this won't like it" sums up why football is a perfect replica of life. Masses whipped into a frenzy over a few individuals, who are themselves overpaid and overvalued due to society's skewed values, yet happily continue to feast on the largesse provided by consumers.

I agree with RG's analysis though, although I would point out that City fans probably feel the same way about Arsenal, a team that has given them less trouble than Crystal Palace over the For the past 5 years or so, a team they've not only given a manager, but also two key players with no vocal objection to those offers, but instead best wishes. Even now, a win over United or Liverpool means so much more.

Heck, Spurs have been giving City bigger headaches lately. To sum it up, Arsenal are essentially City's B team, of course you might not have the finances, but you get benefits through the players and staff we train for you before selling them to you at subsidized prices. And fundamentally, we are not surprised by the performance of our subsidiary, down to the style of play.Victor, Nigeria

Not interested in the city? Really ? Isn't it funny that all these rival club supporters don't care about City but can't stop talking, writing and moaning about City! You guys are not convincing anyone.Mark, M32

Why oppose this World Cup and not others? I find it curious how many people are totally against this World Cup for moral reasons.

Maybe it's because of their treatment of LGBTQ people, which I agree with, but did you boycott and complain about the Russian World Cup? Russia has the same contempt for LGBTQ people as Qatar and even sends them to jail.

Perhaps you disagree with how workers were exploited and money siphoned off into private pockets instead of regenerating the local community instead. In this case, I hope you protested and boycotted the World Cup in Brazil, the World Cup in South Africa because they both had these problems. The Brazilian World Cup actually attracted workers from other countries because they would work for even less than the Brazilians and let me tell you that the Brazilians are very underpaid people and overexploited by the companies.

I personally won't watch the World Cup, not for social reasons, I just think international football is crap. It could be at Anfield and I still wouldn't watch it. But that even if I enjoyed the turgid, slow and clumsy football at international level...
