Beleaguered Dominic Raab appeared to be in retreat today as he publicly responded to claims he launched an 'unreasonable attack' on Gina Miller - and faces new accusations of racial insensitivity towards a BBC comedian, who supports Ms Miller's version of events.

Asked to comment on Ms Miller's shocking revelation, first reported by The Independent, which he called her "stupid" and "naive" in an "aggressive" encounter at the BBC, Mr Raab did not explicitly deny that his account was accurate.< /p>

Instead, in a carefully crafted statement, a spokesman for the Deputy Prime Minister said Mr Raab 'rejects the description and characterization' of him given by Ms Miller.

After Ms Miller also claimed Mr Raab 'barked' at a BBC worker for 'Get me a fucking car," his spokesman said the Deputy Prime Minister "always treats people with the utmost respect and has never insulted staff".

But Mr Raab It got me under more pressure when, in a bizarre twist, comedian Nish Kumar joined the line, backing anti-Brexit campaigner Ms Miller.

Mr. Kumar said he witnessed an incident described by Ms Miller, in which Mr Raab mistook his brother Gary Marlowe, a GP, for Mr Kumar.

"I have to say that I had no confidence that [Mr Raab] could tell the difference between different Asians,” Mr Kumar told The Independent. "It left both of us with a sense of disrespect and contempt for our identity."

He added, "What bothered me was that he didn't had no contrition afterwards. He just went up to the first brown guy he saw, was immediately corrected, but didn't even acknowledge the infraction had occurred."
