Liz Truss was confronted by children who said they 'hated' Boris Johnson and asked why he hadn't been 'kicked out' of Downing Street yet.

The Conservative leadership candidate visited the charity Little Miracles in Peterborough where she faced a grilling of children vying to become PM.

One child suggested making Downing Street Cat Larry the next Prime Minister before another boy said, 'It's so embarrassing'.

One of the children asked Ms Truss where Boris Johnson was, when another replied: 'We hate him'.

The Foreign Secretary explained that he was "back at 10 Downing Street" when an incredulous child asked, "Haven't they kicked him out yet?"
