House Of The Dragon uses the classic Game Of Thrones theme...but is it a good idea?

We know that HBO and senior officials at Warner Bros. Discovery isn't content with an existing "Game of Thrones" spin-off. This show was a phenomenon above a phenomenon on a global scale, and they are looking to capitalize on it in any way they can. “The House of the Dragon” has already been renewed for a second season, and based on the success of this show, I have no doubt that we will see others going green in the near future, such as this spin-off from Jon SnowKit Harrington is growing.

Because of this hopeful expansion of the universe taken from the pages written by George R.R. Martin, I wonder if this use of the "Game of Thrones" theme will be the core sound of all these shows. I hope that is not the case. I want to believe this was a well thought out creative decision by Ryan Condal, Miguel Sapochnik and Ramin Djawadi, but in the landscape of corporate funded art, you can never be too sure.

"House of the Dragon" is, if you pardon the pun, playing with fire. This theme song rules, but seeing a whole new animated opening title sequence associated with it is slightly shocking. It will take me a few episodes before I get used to it. We had 73 episodes of this theme associated with a show and a single episode of "House of the Dragon". It is unfair to give a final verdict on an initial judgment. I've really enjoyed almost certain elements of the show so far, and I don't want to dwell on whether the use of this theme song is purely cynical or not. Whatever their reasoning, I know I can't help but hum it today.
