How to hide your number on iPhone

There are times when you want to make a call but you don't want the person you're calling to know your phone number. For example, maybe you're calling a business to inquire about something, but you don't want to give them your phone number.

How you do this varies by country, there are different methods to hide your number on your device and you can see more details about this below.

How do I hide my number on iPhone?

There are two ways to hide the number on your iPhone when you want to make a call but don't want the person on the other end to know your phone number. This can be useful when making calls to companies you don't want to give your phone number to.

You can either configure your iPhone to hide your number permanently, this means that for each call you make, your phone number is not shared.

The second method is to hide your number only during specific calls, this can be done by putting a number before the phone number you want to call. The number you will need for this varies by country.

How to permanently hide your number on the iPhone?

To permanently hide your provided phone number form during a call, you will need to change your iPhone settings.

This can be done by going to the Settings app on your iPhone, then selecting Phone, then Show My Caller ID, select the toggle to shift and your number will not be hidden on every phone call you switch to your iPhone.

How to temporarily hide your number on iPhone?

This can be done for every phone call you make, if you are in the US you need to put #31# in front of the phone number. For example, if you want to call Apple in the United States with the phone number 800–692–7753, you would dial #31# 800–692–7753.

The number you need to put in front of the UK phone number is slightly different. You must dial 141 followed by the telephone number. So if you are calling Apple in the UK with the phone number 0800 048 0408 you should dial 141 0800 048 0408.

It's quite simple and a useful feature when you want to make a call without giving out your phone number.
