Scary images have revealed the hell where an evil husband is said to have kept his wife and two children prisoners for nearly two decades.

The three family members were abused and imprisoned in an isolated shack in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with crumbling walls and filthy bedding.

Local media reported how the woman and her two children, ages 19 and 22, were held captive indoors for 17 years, suffering from severe dehydration and malnutrition at the hands of their father and husband, Luiz Antonio Santos Silva.

Eyewitnesses said the two young adults looked no older than ten or 11 after enduring years of horrific treatment and debilitating abuse.

The tiny shack was located west of the Brazilian city, in an area known for its severe deprivation and poverty.

It was a squalid little property, with little light and a filthy interior, as shown in photos released by the local police.

Rio Military Police found the three prisoners in their own home, “tied up, soiled and starving,” officers said in a statement.

They added that they had arrested the father on July 28, following an anonymous tip.

Apparently known locally as "DJ" due to the loud music he used to detonate what would have drowned out the screams of his victims.
