Some people love to make an entrance when they arrive at a hotel, so imagine the impact you would have if you skydived there?

Thrill seekers can do just that at the recently opened Ifuru Island Maldives Resort. Guests have the chance to enjoy a bird's eye view of the sublime archipelago plummeting over coral reefs and onto soft, brilliant white sand. Ifuru has its own airport and has partnered with world champion skydiver Will Penny to create the Maldives' first permanent skydiving zone.

The resort is located in the serene Raa. Atoll, 40 minutes flight north of the capital, Malé. The stylish barefoot luxury resort not only offers breathtaking adventure but also plenty of tranquility.

As Ifuru is happy to accommodate families, I visiting with my husband and seven-year-old Amelia. At first we wondered if it might be difficult to entertain our little one, but we were pleasantly surprised by the range of activities on offer for children.

There is an all-day games center with table tennis and PlayStations, as well as two kids' clubs (Coconut Kids Club and Little Explorers Club) for ages 3 to 12, with plenty of activities ranging from treasure hunts and from makeup to marine biology lessons. This means “our time” is on the table…
