James Bond star George Lazenby apologizes for 'disgusting' interview

The former star of e James Bond George Lazenby has apologized after being accused of making 'creepy' and 'disgusting' comments during an onstage interview.

The actor, who played 007 in the film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, was appearing as part of an Australian tour called The Music of James Bond.

Members of the Perth public took offense to what they described as "homophobic" comments and explicit anecdotes.

Lazenby said he was "saddened to learn" that his stories had offended fans.

"It was never my intention to make any hurtful or homophobic comments and I'm so sorry if my stories I've repeatedly shared have been taken this way," he wrote in a statement.

The 83-year-old Australian actor has been removed from all future tour performances.
