A worried family looking at their finances = Energy bills could be frozen with plans unveiled tomorrow

Energy bills are likely to be frozen at around £2,500 a year for many households under plans to be announced by Liz Truss.

The new prime minister is due to make a big announcement tomorrow, but no details are official yet.

But leaked reports suggest Truss will freeze the Ofgem energy price cap at around £2,500 a year.

This cap limits the amount a household paying by direct debit under a variable rate energy contract will pay for gas and electricity per year.
