The love child of a disgraced British politician, Jonathan Aitken, married in a secret ceremony without inviting any members of his father's family.

Petrina Khashoggi, 42, found out she was the former minister's daughter when she was 18.

A year later, Aitken was found guilty of perjury and imprisoned for seven months in 1999 after his libel case failed in response to claims by the Guardian that he had "dealed with Saudis".

But as she married "the love of her life", Danny Baker Jr - Petra from Manhattan revealed that neither her father nor her mother had been invited.

She told MailOnline: 'I would say my relationship with my mum and dad is distant.

"The truth is that I was very alone in this world. I had many advantages, but it was not the privileged life that people perceived."

Petra was raised by her mother, 1970s beauty Soraya Khashoggi, and billionaire arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi who raised her as his own.
