Guitarist Neal Schon says keyboardist Jonathan Cain "has no right to use Journey for the politics".

Cain, whose wife Paula White is an adviser to the former president, performed the band's anthem at an event at the estate of Mr. Trump in Florida last month. Schon was the one who damaged Journey's reputation.

The couple are already in a legal battle over expenses on the band's credit card.

Don't Stop Believin' was first released in 1981 but enjoyed a resurgence after being used on TV shows The Sopranos and Glee.

It was written by Cain and Schon in collaboration with vocalist Steve Perry, who left the band in 1998.

Last month it was revealed to be the most streamed song of 1981 in the UK.
