Kanye West ends partnership with retailer Gap

Rapper Ka nye West is to end a once-famous partnership with retailer Gap, who hoped the collaboration could breathe new life into their brand.

M . West accused the company of not honoring the terms of the deal, including not opening standalone stores for its fashion brand Yeezy.

The deal with Mr West, who calls himself Ye, was hailed as potentially transformative when it was announced in 2020.

But there have been signs of voltage.

The first item produced under the partnership, a $200 (£173) puffer jacket, did not go on sale for a year. This led to reports that Gap was frustrated with the slow rollout of Yeezy merchandise, which also included a brightly colored plain hoodie for $90.

Mr. West, meanwhile, has repeatedly criticized the company on social media, accusing it of copying his designs, excluding him from meetings and ignoring his requests to join the board.
