Keir Starmer will pledge to 'build a Britain where working people can succeed again' and undo the damage the Tories have done to the economy.

In a speech to the TUC conference in Brighton on Thursday, the Labor leader will say the Tories showed their 'true colours' with an economic plan 'to show they were on the side of the top 1%. < /p>

Mr. Starmer will accuse Liz Truss of "insulting" British workers and seek to woo union bosses by pledging to tear up any new anti-strike legislation.

He will say: "A crisis created in Downing Street - without a mandate - paid for by working people with higher bills, higher rents and higher mortgages.

"This is who they are, these are their true colours. Never again will Britain be able to take seriously its claim to be a party of aspiration or sound money."

Labour would restore economic stability in government, but 'things will be really difficult', he warned.

Mr. Starmer is expected to highlight a leaked recording of Ms Truss saying workers in the UK needed "a little more corruption" when she was Chief Secretary to the Treasury.

"It's delusional. It's insulting. If they come up with any new restrictions on workers' rights or the right to strike, we will oppose and repeal it," he will say.

“We will respond to their attacks with hope, provide the leadership this country desperately needs and build a Britain where working people can succeed again, where working people are supported as the people who really create economic growth. .

"It's the Labor choice."

The Labor leader will come under pressure to back inflation-level wage rises and allow MPs to picket in a union grill today.
