A Labor MP has been suspended by the party and had his whip removed, reportedly following allegations of bullying.

Christina Rees has reportedly been administratively suspended, which under party rules means she must sit as an independent MP while an investigation is conducted.

Labour said it could not comment on individual cases.

Ms Rees, who served as Wales' shadow secretary when Jeremy Corbyn was Labor leader, has been MP for Neath in South Wales since 2015.

According to , an investigation has been opened following allegations that she intimidated her constituency staff.

The Mirror has contacted Ms Rees' office for comment.

In a statement to The Guardian, she said: "A complaint has been lodged against me with Labor which is being investigated and I am therefore under administrative suspension until the end of the process.

"I do not know the details of the complaint, but I am cooperating fully with the investigation."

She joins Jeremy Corbyn, Rupa Huq and Claudia Webber as independents having seen the Labor whip removed.
