The London Stock Exchange (LSE) group plans to create a blockchain-based platform offering traditional financial assets.

According to a Financial Times report, the company has been researching the potential of a blockchain-based trading platform for a year. Murray Roos, Head of Capital Markets at LSE Group, said the company's efforts to study blockchain had reached a point where it decided to move forward with its plans.

Roos also clarified that he would not build anything around cryptocurrencies. However, the company will use blockchain technology to improve the efficiency of holding, buying and selling traditional assets.
