A man claims he was kidnapped and raped by a group of young women after being drugged in a mysterious attack.

The leather factory worker in his 20s says four women picked him up in a vehicle as he was walking around the town of Jalandhar in Punjab, India on Monday.

He claims he was then sexually assaulted for several hours before being dumped in a wooded area late at night.

The man detailed his allegations to local media after he decided not to speak to the police at the request of his wife. She allegedly told him not to press charges, as the family was more concerned about his return alive.

Recalling the alleged incident, the worker described being stopped by four women in a white car as he was traveling on foot along the city's Kapurthala Road.

The women - who reportedly spoke to each other in English, but spoke to the man only in Punjabi - then asked him for information about an address which they gave him on a piece of paper.

While inspecting the writing, one of the attackers then allegedly sprayed a substance in his eyes, causing him to lose his sight and then pass out.

When he woke up, he was sitting in the car, blindfolded, with his hands tied behind his back. He then claims to have been taken to an unknown forest and drugged.

After forcing him to drink some of their alcohol, the four women then allegedly raped him.

He says he was left at the site around 3am with his blindfold on and his restraints still attached, before finally returning home.
