A man survived being stabbed in the neck with a 150-year-old three-foot-long trident when a fight at work got out of hand.
Bhaskar Ram, 33, was involved in a fight with two men at his workplace in Kalyani, India, when he was struck with the bizarre weapon.
The weapon entered the right side of his neck, traveling all the way, exiting the left side of his neck.
Although he claimed he was in no pain, a local source said he was rushed to the local hospital on November 28, but later transferred to a specialist hospital located 65 km away for further treatment.
Medical staff at Kolkata NRS Medical College in West Bengal woke up surgeon Dr Pranabashish Banerjee specially to perform the operation to remove the trident from Ram's neck.
