Mango just released a $199 version of fashion's cult $4,000 coat

Burberry has its famous trench coat. Louis Vuitton has its iconic luggage. And Max Mara has his recognizable plush coat. Although it's available in a host of different colors, the brown version is particularly sought after by the fashion elite - it regularly appears in street style photos year after year. While I'm a big fan of the chic Italian brand, there's no denying that the $4,000 price tag is out of reach for most buyers.

That's where Mango comes in: the brand just launched a $199 coat that reminds me of Max Mara's Teddy Coat. Importantly, I don't see this as a cheesy knockoff, but more of a coat with a similar vibe that has different details. As you can see from the photos, the Mango version is made with a fuzzier, hairier material while the Max Mara version has more of a traditional sherpa look.
