Mary Poppins actress Glynis Johns has died at the age of 100.

Glynis Johns, known for her role as suffragist mother Winifred Banks in Mary Poppins, died at the age of 100.

The British actress, whose career spanned more than 60 years, died Thursday in Los Angeles, her manager confirmed.

She appeared in dozens of films and was also an accomplished theater artist.

Her manager Mitch Clem said in a statement that her death was a “dark day for Hollywood.”

Johns starred alongside Dame Julie Andrews in Disney's classic 1964 musical Mary Poppins, which won five Academy Awards.

His manager of 25 years, Mr. Clem, said that "his light shone very brightly for 100 years."

"Glynis has navigated his way through life with intelligence, wit and a love of performance, affecting millions of lives", a- he declared, paying tribute.

"Today is a dark day for Hollywood. Not only do we mourn the passing of our dear Glynis, but we mourn the end of the golden age of Hollywood."
