Mel and Jack struggle with her pregnancy in 'Virgin River' Season 4 trailer

We finally get a glimpse of what's to come in the fourth season of 'Virgin River'. On July 8, Netflix released the trailer for the upcoming season, which will arrive on July 20 with 12 episodes to continue the next chapter of the show. The third season brought all the big city drama and romance we've come to expect from the Netflix series. So thankfully we'll be heading back to the quaint town soon enough to pick up after this emotional end to the season.

At the end of season 3, viewers saw Jack attempt to propose to Mel before she stopped him from dropping a bombshell: she's pregnant and she doesn't know if it's her baby or the embryo she used from her late husband, Mark. The mystery of fatherhood continues in season four, it seems, as Mel says in the trailer, "I'm pregnant and I don't know who the father is." Despite the suggestion of a paternity test, Jack hesitates: "If we find out that Mark is the father, it could change how I feel about our baby."

The trailer also teases a "competition" in the form of a new doctor at the clinic and tackles Jack's drinking habits, with Mel asking him to cut down on his drinking.

Given the success of "Virgin River," Netflix renewed the series, which is based on the book series of the same name by Robyn Carr, for seasons four and five in September 2021, TV Line reported. So there's already more drama guaranteed for at least one more season after the series' summer premiere.

Of course, there are a lot of details to sort out when "Virgin River" returns. Luckily, "Virgin River" Season 4 promises more romance, romance, and that new good-looking face in town.
