Miley Cyrus says touring isn't 'healthy' for her: 'It erases my humanity and my connection'

Miley Cyrus explains why she doesn't like touring. The "Wrecking Ball" singer explained why touring isn't the healthiest thing for her.

In the Used To Be Young video series posted on Cyrus's TikTok account, the former< em>The Hannah Montana star says traveling as a cheerleader has helped her on tour.

"This is what people don't really understand about touring: the show doesn't last 90 minutes, but that's your life," Cyrus explained. "If you're performing at a certain level of intensity and excellence, there should be an equal amount of recovery and rest. of ego that has to play a role that I think gets overused when I'm on tour. And once that switch is on, it's hard to turn it off. I think when you train your ego, every night, to be active, this is the hardest switch for me to turn off."

She continued, "Having the relationship between you and other humans every day as a subject and observer is not healthy for me because it erases my humanity and my connection and without my humanity [and] my connection I cannot be a songwriter, which is my priority.”

This isn't the first time Cyrus has spoken out against touring. Earlier this year, the singer clarified that she didn't want to go on tour again and it wasn't because she wasn't connected with her fans.

"It's been a minute," Cyrus told British Vogue of his tour. “After the last [headline arena] show I did [in 2014], I sort of looked at it as a question. And I can't. »

"Not only can't I," she continued, "because it's is your ability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for the pleasure or fulfillment of someone other than my own?"

Cyrus said acting was "unnatural", adding, "It's so isolating because if you're in front of 100,000 people, then you're alone."
