This is the terrifying moment a man pulls out a fake gun at a hotel in Magaluf with which he threatened unsuspecting holidaymakers.

Police today released footage of the Spanish national while confirming he was arrested following a manhunt. He was accused of creating a situation of "panic and tension". The victims did not know if the weapon was real or fake at the time of the ordeal.

Detectives today said the gun was 'very similar' to a real gun, but was actually a replica Glock pistol. They also revealed the suspect, who they described as a 'well-known criminal' who had a history of violent crimes, was arrested earlier this year after he attempted to attack several strangers on the street with a large knife .

The firearm incident happened last Thursday in an unnamed hotel in Magaluf. A Civil Guard spokesman said today: “The Civil Guard has arrested a Spanish national for allegedly threatening others with a replica firearm. On August 24, the suspect burst into a hotel complex in Magaluf armed with a gun which he pointed at people, creating a situation of panic and tension, before fleeing.
