Tunisair has canceled flights and reportedly does not have enough airworthy planes, Jeune Afrique reported.

After several flights were canceled, passengers were stranded for days at Tunis-Carthage airport without hotels or temporary visas.

Those who were forced to remain at the airport, many of them passengers from sub-Saharan Africa, were brutally beaten by Tunisian security forces for allegedly assaulting police.

However, the brutal footage shows baton-wielding police savagely attacking air passengers who fall to the ground in agony.

Tunisian news site Mosaïque FM said eight passengers, accused of assaulting security guards at Tunis Carthage International Airport, have been arrested. The website did not mention any violence or show the video depicting the brutal events.

Migrants from sub-Saharan Africa have already been treated with contempt by Tunisia.

In April, dozens of refugees and migrants in Tunisia staged a sit-in outside the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the Tunisian capital, Tunis.

They asked to be evacuated to other countries following the mistreatment suffered in Tunisia.

Mohamed Nour, 19, from Chad, told Agence France Presse that they are constantly victims of racist abuse, which makes life difficult.
